The NanoBusiness Commercialization Association (NanoBCA) is celebrating our 20-Year Anniversary! NanoBCA has been committed to promoting the commercialization of products utilizing the science of nanotechnology. We were advocates of the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). Our first success was the passage of the legislation to fund the NNI which was signed into law by President George W. Bush in December 2003. Our members were present to witness this historic event. As advocates of the science of nanotechnology, we returned to the White House during the Bush and Obama Administrations. In addition, during the last 20 years members of the NanoBCA have met with the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology.
We invite you to join the NanoBCA as an Individual or a Young Professional Member.
YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MEMBER $100
One of the NanoBCA member benefits is the opportunity to participate in our monthly webinars. On Monday, November 29th the 2021 Environment+Energy Leader Honorees were announced. I am excited to share that I, Vincent Caprio, Founder and Executive Director of Water Innovations Alliance Foundation have been selected as one of the Environment+Energy 100 Leaders of 2021.
“The Honorees on the annual list show groundbreaking work and dedication to the field of sustainability and energy management,” says Paul Nastu, President of Environment+Energy Leader. “We’re thrilled to recognize this year’s Honorees and congratulate all who made the list.”
Now in its fifth year, the annual Environment+Energy Leader 100 recognizes those environment and energy “doers” who break trail in creating new solutions, programs, platforms, best practices and products to help their companies – or other companies – achieve greater success in commercial and industrial environment and energy management. And it doesn’t just celebrate the C-suite, but also those top managers and in-the-trenches team members who are working diligently behind the scenes and shaping the industry. Nominations are open to the public and the final honoree list is selected by Environment+Energy Leader. See this year’s honorees and past honorees here: https://www.environmentalleader.com/ee-100-honorees/.
Nominations for the E+E 100 are made by Environment+Energy Leader readers and others that work in the industry, are vetted and then Environment+Energy Leader team and a select group of advisors from the industry make the final Honoree selections.

When it comes to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is not messing around. The agency announced on June 10, 2021, three actions intended to protect communities from PFAS:
More information about these rules is available in our June 11, 2021, memorandum “EPA Announces Three PFAS Actions, Including Proposed TSCA Section 8(a) Reporting Rule.” Comments on these proposed rules are due on or before September 27, 2021.
The proposed rule intended to obtain comprehensive data on PFAS would require all manufacturers (including importers) of PFAS in any year since 2011 to report information related to chemical identity, categories of use, volumes manufactured and processed, byproducts, environmental and health effects, worker exposure, and disposal. As a result of these EPA regulatory actions, companies that never expected to need to know TSCA are now finding themselves in EPA’s crosshairs.
In light of this, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®) is pleased to announce a complimentary webinar focused on these issues on September 9, 2021, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (EDT). B&C Managing Partner Lynn L. Bergeson and Director of Chemistry Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., will discuss EPA’s proposed rules and what the regulated community must know and do to comply.

US EPA Emergency Response Research Webinar
COVID-19: Aerosol Treatment Devices & Ozone Disinfection
Thursday, August 12, 2021
1:00-2:00 PM ET
REGISTER HERE (FREE)
Reducing the risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, relies on effective cleaning and disinfection, along with public health strategies like testing and social distancing. Recent studies have indicated that exposure to aerosolized SARS-CoV-2 mass can facilitate the spread of COVID-19. As indoor environments (e.g., schools, businesses, mass transit) continue to repopulate, more attention is being focused on technologies that claim to reduce or eliminate virus transmission via aerosols while operating safely in occupied spaces.
EPA researchers are evaluating the efficacy of different types of aerosol treatment technologies in reducing airborne concentrations using a large-scale test chamber and standardized testing approach. Researchers are establishing protocols for evaluating efficacy of aerosol treatment products to help facilitate cross-technology comparisons.
Additionally, alternative methods that supplement regular cleaning and disinfection are being investigated by EPA researchers. Ozone disinfection has been identified as a potential method for disinfection of surfaces contaminated with SARS-CoV-2. This webinar will discuss results from evaluating the efficacy of such methods and real-world application.
