Quadrennial Review of the National Nanotechnology Initiative: Report Briefing

The U.S. National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) coordinates nanotechnology-related research and development across 26 federal agencies. This highly interdisciplinary research is making significant contributions to the nation’s high-technology economy in areas from microelectronics to medicine. However, nanotechnology research is being conducted in an increasingly competitive global arena. With other nations making large investments in the field, the United States is at risk of falling behind.

The National Academies invites you to join us for a report briefing webinar on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 1-2:30pm ET featuring our recent report, A Quadrennial Review of the National Nanotechnology Initiative: Nanoscience, Applications, and CommercializationDuring the webinar, members of the study committee will discuss how U.S. nanotechnology programs compare to those in other nations, whether coordination under the NNI should continue, and how to improve the NNI’s research and development strategy to further enhance U.S. economic prosperity and security. After the talk, speakers will take questions from the audience.
